In the Cornish language, Keskowethyans is a partnership. The members of Keskowethyans are a partnership of musicians and dancers who have come together this year from other groups of performers throughout Cornwall in order to represent Cornwall in the Festival Interceltique de Lorient. In this, its 45th year, FIL is presenting the Year of Cornwall and the Isle of Man.
Performers involved in Cornish and Manx cultural activities have been commuting between the two countries to arrange presentations for FIL. Some of the young dancers and musicians who have become involved in the Keskowethyans will be coming to Yn Chruinnaght not only to dance and play, but also to teach something about Cornish music and dance in a troyl – a Cornish ceili – on Thursday evening and in a workshop on Saturday morning.
