Falkirk Piping is a bagpipe tuition business run by Neil Clark from Larbert, Scotland. Neil is a Piping & Drumming Qualifications Board teacher and assessor and has pupils from all over the world. He conducts workshops for bands and groups and his instructional YouTube channel is used by pipers worldwide.
The Glenbervie Folk Duo consists of Neil and his wife Kathryn Grainger. Between them, they play Scottish smallpipes, Highland bagpipes, whistles, guitar, clarinet and they both sing. Their music is mainly Scottish/Celtic trad and folk. They have performed throughout the UK and as far afield as the Falkland Islands!
Neil Clark began playing bagpipes at a very young age. As well as performing at various occasions and events, Neil teaches bagpipes in person and over Skype. He is an approved examination assessor for the Piping and Drumming Qualifications Board and the College of Piping. He conducts workshops for bands and groups and will be working with pipers here in the Island during Yn Chruinnaght Celtic Gathering. Neil also plays whistles and harmonica and sings.
Kathryn Grainger joins her husband Neil in the Glenbervie Folk Duo which was set up in Nov 2015 when Neil and Kathryn realized that his Scottish smallpipes in C and her clarinet went very well together. Kathryn also plays guitar and sings. She is a member of the Falkirk Tryst Orchestra, with whom Neil has also performed as a soloist.
The Glenbervie Folk Duo will be performing at various events during the festival, performing for schoolchildren and leading music workshops.
